The Iowa Falls Rugby Club opened their fall competition Saturday, August 25 at the local pitch against the Cedar Rapids Headhunters. Cedar Rapids scored quickly to lead 0-7. Iowa Falls’ Marky Felix scored but Cedar Rapids added a try before halftime, Iowa Falls trailing 5 – 14. The second half started with Jacob Mello scoring a try with Justin Liekweg converting to trail 12 – 14. A go-ahead try was disallowed by referee call. Momentum then shifted to the Cedar Rapids team as they scored three unanswered tries for the final tally 12 – 35. The Club’s next match is September 8 at 11 AM at Des Moines.
